On October 11th Pioneer Food Services Limited (PFSL) opened a new double drive thru restaurant at 1180 Highway #2 in Ancaster. This new restaurant replaces restaurant #529 that was at the same location. This new restaurant #529 incorporates all the newest design elements for the Tim Hortons chain including very different exterior finishes and elevations making the building appear more like a bakery/café/bistro. The interior of the restaurant features a warm toned colour scheme, free standing seating, some soft seating, a fireplace, T.V., electronic menu board, 4 registers and a Coldstone Creamery. Additionally, the building was built to be a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified building. It will be the first rebuilt Tim Hortons to achieve this certification.
